The Follea repair process.
I have a lot of ladies who call or email me asking for me to explain the Follea repair process to them.
One of the great things about investing in a Follea wig or Topette is that you can make regular repairs to the piece (every 18 months to 2 years) and then carry on wearing your Follea for an extended amount of time.
Keeping on top of your repairs and operating a “wear, repair, wear” system will save you a substantial amount of money when compared to purchasing a brand new second Follea piece.
With all the above in mind let’s grab ourselves a cuppa and get started on the Follea Repair process ...
The first stage in the process is us receiving your Follea wig. This would need to be either dropped in to our store or posted to us along with a note with your name, address and repair details on it.
If you don’t really know what repair work needs doing to your Follea (you just know she is looking and feeling a bit tired) then just let us know that in the note and we can make some suggestions along with the factories suggestions for you to consider.
Please make sure that you ship your Follea wig to us in it’s original bag where possible. If you no longer have the original bag that’s OK, we can still get the process started but having the original bag speeds things up a little.
We do the paperwork for your Follea repair quote making sure to include the unique serial number of your wig.
We then inspect your wig making notes on it’s condition and repair suggestions if you’ve requested we do this.
The paperwork gets included with your wig and we then ship your Follea to our friends over at Follea Germany.
Once you wig arrives in Germany more paperwork is done and your wig is assessed again. After this has been completed your Follea will then take a trip via priority courier to the Follea factory which is based in China.
Many manufacturers rent space different factories but Follea actually own their own factory which has been purpose built to manufacture their wigs. This is just one of the reasons why Follea wigs and Topettes are so consistent in their sizing, quality and beauty.
Upon arrival at the Follea factory your Follea piece is inspected and a repair quote is written up and emailed to us.
We then pass this quote on to you for your consideration.
The above process can take around 4-5 weeks but sometimes longer during busy periods of time or when their are factory closures due to Chinese new year / Chinese holidays etc.
Once you receive your repair quote from us you are more than welcome to ask any questions you may have and you are certainly NOT obligated to go with every repair suggestion on the quote.
On rare occasions our customers will ask for a fully itemised quote. This can take a further 2 weeks to obtain and individual repair items will always cost slightly more than having everything down at the same time.
This is because the factory has to prepare the hair and repair materials twice or more for individual item repairs than it does for a repair containing multiple items at the same time.
Once you have agreed to the repair quote will then email you across and invoice and once payment has been received we action your repair with the Follea factory straight away.
I have been wanting to write a blog post about the Follea repair process for such a long time now so I’m glad I have finally found the time to sit down and get this written up for you.
I think what happens a lot of the time is that customers think this is a very slow process and that it should be sped up in some way (the process from start to finish can often take 4-6 weeks during non busy times) but this is not a process that can be rushed.
In fact, Follea will not rush an order through as when work starts to move too quickly the common sense tells them (and us if you think about it!) that mistakes can happen and corners need to be cut.
Follea don’t cut corners and it’s this mission statement and work ethic that has made Follea a trusted brand name for beautiful high quality wigs since 2008.
I hope this blog was helpful as I hope with all the content I put up here for you.
